Our people themed competition was judged by Jim Alfano, not portraits but showing people in their surroundings. Cropping is required on nearly all images but be careful where you draw the line. Do not chop off parts of people, especially their feet. Avoid significant overlapping of people, leave a space if possible. This can often be accomplished by slightly shifting your position when taking the image. While we want to see the environment, it's best if the people stand out. If the background is too busy, the people fade away.
